My Cousin Rachel

Daphne Du Maurier writes a mysterious plot with My Cousin Rachel. Philip Ashley was raised by his cousin, Ambrose. When Ambrose meets and falls in love with another of his cousins, Rachel, Philip is happy for him. Ambrose and Rachel are married in Italy. Not long after, Ambrose ends up dying. Philip is his designated heir and inherits all of Ambrose's wealth and estate. Rachel comes to live in England, closer to Philip. Ambrose was her second husband. Her first was an Italian count.
