Two Days in Summer is a language enrichment video for students of English at beginners' and elementary level. It consists of two video-cassettes, a Students' Workbook and a Teacher's Manual. The 15 Units of Two Days in Summer each provide sufficient work for one classroom period, and are designed to be compatible with the language progression of any modern coursebook at an equivalent level.
Teachers using Opening Strategies or Discoveries 2 by Brian Abbs and Ingrid Freebairn, will see that Two Days in Summer, although different in theme and storyline, follows the same functional and structural syllabus.
The video and coursebook can be linked (unit-by-unit in the case of Opening Strategies) and taught concurrently. Alternatively, the video can be presented as a whole, after completing the coursebook, to provide original and highly motivating revision and enrichment material. For zero-beginners it is recommended that the video be introduced roughly half way through the course.
