Holes

Holes (1998) is a Newbery Medal-winning novel by Louis Sachar. It was adapted into a screenplay for the 2003 film by Walt Disney Pictures which was a critical and commercial success.
In 2006, Sachar published Small Steps, a companion novel which is about one of the characters from Holes, Armpit.

Holes follows several narratives, all linked to Camp Green Lake and the family of Stanley Yelnats. The story primarily follows Stanley's time at Camp Green Lake and the circumstances that eventually allow him to overcome the apparent curse that has been placed on his family because of the actions of his great-great-grandfather, Elya Yelnats.
