It is hard to imagine Indonesia as a country. Thousands of islands scattered across the expanse between the Indian and Pacific Oceans is hardly a likely candidate for a unified country. Yet this is the land (and water!) of Indonesia. It is a country pieced together from more than 17,000 islands,more than 6,000 of which are inhabited.
