The Winning Team is a video for learners of English at elementary and pre-intermediate levels.
The story: A young photographer and a cynical newspaper reporter have to learn to work together when they are sent out on assignments in Portsmouth. Will they succeed?
The Video Workbook guides students towards a full understanding of the story through language and visual comprehension activities.
The Winning Team closely follows the functional and structural syllabus of Blueprint Two. Each of the eight video episodes and Video Workbook units corresponds to the language content of five units of Blueprint Two Students' Book.
Story review units help reinforce the storyline and revise key language. A Grammar Summary lists the main structures used in The Winning Team episode by episode for quick reference. The backdrop of Portsmouth provides visually attractive material on British life and culture, which is exploited in a separate section in the Video Workbook.
