Unfortunately, its also an enterprise that requires a lot of what many of us dont have these days: spare time. "Great books" such as Don Quixote, War and Peace, and Bleak House constitute a grand reading list that many of us, with our busy lives, cant easily manage. Or, if we read them over weeks or months, we can easily lose our way, or even lose interest.
