Grumpty Badgers Christmas
Christmas is coming and everyone is so excited - except for Grumpy Badger. Piffle he shouts. I am going to sleep until spring, and if anyone wakes me up I shall be VERY grumpy. But then Grumpy Badger has three visitors... and there is a great crisis. Will he learn the error of his ways before it's too late?
Arthur decides to make Mother and Father special Christmas cookies as a present. But when the cookies are finally finished, they are hard as rocks! Can Arthur think of a way to turn this disaster into the best Christmas present ever?
Long out of print, the definitive Christmas anthology is back...deeply revised with new images, recipes, jacket, and introduction. Lavishly illustrated throughout with nineteenth- and twentieth-century artwork, this book is everything you want Christmas to be — loving, warm and celebratory. Timeless and adorable, beautifully designed, The Little Big Book of Christmas is a great big stocky little book—stuffed with stories to read, carols to sing, biblical verse to share, recipes to make and bake, and Christmas history and lore to learn.
According to the story, it is Christmas Eve and Raggedy Ann and the other dolls did not have a gift for Marcella, and they wanted very much to find or make a gift for her. Making a gift was a tremendous challenge for dolls and toys that only came to life when the people were absent or asleep. Nothing seemed quite right until a Santa doll helped them. This book is based on the doll and toy characters created by Johnny Gruelle.
