While Five In A Row cannot be described as a complete curriculum, it IS a fantastic resource. The lessons included for each story are great "jumping-off" points. I don't typically do all of the suggested activities but use the activities as a place to start. Then we take off in whatever direction we choose, following the interests of my 5yr old.

There are Extra activities in every lesson and optional reinforcement and extension lessons in each unit for teachers with more hours. However, for those with less time, the notes indicate which activities could be left out without changing the lesson structure or significantly altering the amount of language practice.
101 Alphabet Activities is divided into eight chapters, each one reflecting an early childhood curriculum area. You will find activities to foster the children’s social and emotional development, language and literacy skills, and understanding of math concepts. You will also find science activities that strengthen the children’s observation and reasoning skills, music and movement activities that get everyone involved, and group art activities that inspire creativity and cooperation. There are also activities for group dramatic play and activities to help children develop their motor skills.
