Writing Tasks II

This workbook is the second volume of a selection from the writing exam papers of the Department of Basic English at Middle-East Technical University. It aims to provide the intermediate and upper-intermediate students with writing material that will support the writing activities done in class. This book is for adults and young adults. Each book is divided into units designed to last for a lesson of approximately 50 minutes and includes a grid describing the skills, topic and language functions covered in each unit. It comprises 20 two page units based on taped material at intermediate level. There are a variety of listening topics such as a story, interview, discussion, monologue, news report and lecture based on authentic or stimulated authentic material. Integrated activities covering pre-listening tasks and discussion based on listening for gist and specific information, prediction and writing tasks based on topics are included.
