Pygmalion (audiobook, read by a native speaker) - "Пигмалион", аудиокнига
Pygmalion (1913) is a play by George Bernard Shaw loosely inspired by the Greek myth of the same name. It tells the story of Henry Higgins, a professor of phonetics (based on phonetician Henry Sweet) who makes a bet with his friend Colonel Pickering that he can successfully pass off a Cockney flower girl, Eliza Doolittle, as a refined society lady by teaching her how to speak with an upper class accent and training her in etiquette. In the process, Higgins and Doolittle grow close, but she ultimately rejects his domineering ways and declares she will marry Freddy Eynsford-Hill – a young, poor, gentleman.
'Пигмалион' - искрометная комедия, суть которой - в пари, заключенном между профессором фонетики мистером Хиггинсом и полковником Пиккерингом. Хиггинс утверждает, что сможет, благодаря своим знаниям и педагогическому умению, превратить простую цветочницу Элизу Дулиттл в светскую даму....

Marshall Jevons - Murder at the Margin (A Henry Spearman Mystery)

Marshall Jevons - Murder at the Margin (A Henry Spearman Mystery)Cinnamon Bay Plantation on lush, tropical St. John was the ideal Caribbean island getaway: Or so it seemed. But for distinguished Harvard economist Henry Spearman, long overdue for R & R, it offered diversion of a decidedly different sort and one he'd hardly anticipated: murder.
Now available in a new critical edition, Marshall Jevons's Murder at the Margin was first published in 1978, when it marked the debut of Henry Spearman. Spearman relies on economic thinking to solve crimes--a distinction that places him in the pantheon of such fictional investigators as Father Brown, Miss Marple, Hercule Poirot, and Rabbi Small.

Shakespeare and Carnival: After Bakhtin (Early Modern Literature in History) This collection of essays reassesses a range of Shakespeare's plays in relation to carnivalesque theory. The plays discussed include: "Henry IV"; "Romeo and Juliet"; "A Midsummer Night's Dream"; "The Merry Wives of Windsor"; "Hamlet"; "Measure For Measure"; "The Winter's Tale"; and "Henry VIII". Contributors re-historicize the carnivalesque in different ways, offering both a developed application, or critique of, Bakhtin's thought.
