Jeanne d'Arc was born to a peasant family in Lorraine, France. At the age of 13, she started to hear voices speaking to her from Saint Michael, Saint Catherine and Saint Margaret inspiring her to lead the French against the English. She was burned at the stake in 1431 and charged by the church for being a heretic.
