A visit from Saint Nicholas
The author of this book was Clement Clark Moore (1779-1863). This is a fun and wonderfully illustrated version of Night Before Christmas. Illustrated from drawings by Felix Octavius Carr Darley (1822-1888). Published in 1862.
Published in 1882. Poems with beautiful illustrations. It was written by Margaret Sidney. Margaret Sidney was the pseudonym of the author. The book is quite and antique but it still valuable.
The Trial (German: Der Prozess) is a novel by Franz Kafka, first published in 1925. One of Kafka's best-known works, it tells the story of a man arrested and prosecuted by a remote, inaccessible authority, with the nature of his crime never revealed either to him or the reader.
The Plague (Fr. La Peste) is a novel by Albert Camus, published in 1947, that tells the story of medical workers finding solidarity in their labour as the Algerian city of Oran is swept by a plague epidemic. It asks a number of questions relating to the nature of destiny and the human condition. The characters in the book, ranging from doctors to vacationers to fugitives, all help to show the effects the plague has on a populace.
Beautiful Losers is a novel by Leonard Cohen. Published in 1966 by McClelland and Stewart, it was the Canadian novelist-poet's second novel, and precedes his career as a singer-songwriter. It is noted as being perhaps Cohen's most defiant and uninhibited work,[citation needed] and is also one of the best-known experimental novels to be published during the 1960s.
