Textbooks of the course "British Literature" for specialized school and high school with in-depth study of English, students of the Faculty of Foreign Languages, the subject of which is the historical development of English literature, the formation of genres in different historical periods, their popularity among contemporaries and influence on formation of morals and culture, systematic knowledge of English literature, English language skills based on reading and discussion of literary texts. The educational material of the first book reproduces the modern literary periodization, offers material relating to the era of early and medieval English literature, ends with the period of Romanticism (late 18th - early 19th century). The second book covers the period from the Victorian era to modern postmodernism. The manuals contain information about literary periods, introduce bright representatives of literary trends, their life and creative path, includes unadapted passages of some works, contains tasks for reading comprehension, development of critical thinking and creative abilities of students. The application offers keys to some tasks, a glossary of literary terms, a list of proper names with transcription and an English-Ukrainian dictionary.
