English of Professional Communication: Английский язык профессионального общения

Книга является результатом научных изысканий в области стилистики английского языка и посвящена лингвистическим проблемам обмена профессиональной информацией специалистов разных областей знаний. 
LSP (Language for Specific Purposes) стал инструментом для восприятия и передачи профессиональной информации. 
Для ученых-лингвистов, студентов и аспирантов вузов — как языковых, так и других гуманитарных и технических специальностей. 

Language for Specific Purposes (LSP) (in our case, English for Specific Purposes – ESP) is intended for a particular profession or a range of similar occupations and is targeted on particular vocabulary and phrasing, grammar rules and stylistic patterns, prosodic contours and models of discourse conspicuous for certain professional speech varieties.
LSP: English of Professional Communication is assigned to both the students of linguistic and non-linguistic specialties and comprises a series of lectures on one of the most urgent problems of linguistics — communication within a certain area of knowledge. It also contains text materials pertaining to particular professions: included are translation exercises involving texts of special professional orientation, as translation is an effective tool that assists in matching language communication patterns of the speakers of different languages in a specific field. The author hopes that the book will help to improve the general linguistic awareness of the students as information about English structure and vocabulary patterns is a necessary- prerequisite for the proper understanding of translation.
In its training part the book comprises tasks and exercises on English vocabulary and speech patterns which are in standard circulation in official documents- in diplomatic practice, international law and business areas, religion, politics, mass media, medicine practice; in scientific research; in publicist style; in fiction.
