Author Marcia Leonard has taken all of the wonderful creativity inherent in the regular Choose Your Own Adventure series and tailored it to an audience scarcely older than toddlers. Little Panda Gets Lost has only one decision for the reader (or listener, as is likely the case for this book) to make, and it's right at the beginning of the story. That one decision branches off into two mini adventures for the reader, who is pretending he or she is a young panda bear who has lost its mother in the store. Both paths eventually lead to the same happy ending.
Old Sam and the Little Fire Engine do not seem to be needed in Little Snoring anymore, as the town has a brand new motor fire engine and five smart firemen. But it is old Sam and Little Fire Engine who gallop to the rescue on the night of the big fire.
Will and Squill have been friends ever since they were both tiny. Neither of their mums is happy about it.
Dirty little squirrel, says Will’s mum. Dirty little baby, says Squill’s.
But Will and Squill understand one another, and they have great fun together. Then Will gets a kitten, and Squill gets jealous and they quarrel. But the kitten spends too much time sleeping, and Will misses Squill. He wants his old friend back.
