In this sweet little book, Kipper meets a little gosling who is in dire need of a bath... and who can only make one sound. "Honk" captures well the tender spirit of the Kipper the Dog series. This 16-page book (only half of which is text) is sure to be a hit with any young fan of the series. Printed on a heavy, glossy stock, it should hold up well with little hands that are ready to transition out of board books.
Horrid Henry is the main fictional character in a popular series of children's books by Francesca Simon. By December, 2006, Horrid Henry had terrorised his parents, teachers, friends, neighbours and even the Queen in seventeen books, most of which had also been released as hugely popular audio books read by actress Miranda Richardson. As of November, 2006, more than six million Horrid Henry books and audio books in twenty languages had been sold worldwide.
This Sceptred Isle was created as a series of short 12-14 minute radio programmes by the BBC for transmission daily on Radio 4 from 1995 about the history of the lands and peoples of the British Isles. The producer was Pete Atkin. Starting in 55 BC with the arrival of Julius Caesar and initially concluding in 1901 with the death of Queen Victoria, the series was read by Anna Massey and included extracts from the book A History of the English-speaking Peoples written by Sir Winston Churchill, interwoven into Christopher Lee's main account of the history.
