Spanish cooking is regionally diverse, flamboyant and imaginative and, above all, to be eaten and enjoyed in a leisurely manner. Together with fresh fish, vegetables and fruit, peppers, herbs, garlic and olive oil give Spanish food a taste that is unique. This introduction to Spanish cuisine not only contains well-known dishes such as paella de Mariscos, Gazpacho and lesser known specialities such as Pote Gallego, Calderada and Gachas. The increasingly popular Tapas are, of course, included, and a wide ranging selection of salads and vegetable dishes.

The Long Quiche Goodbye
Welcome to the grand opening of Fromagerie Bessette. Or as it's more commonly known by the residents of small-town Providence, Ohio-the Cheese Shop. Proprietor Charlotte Bessette has prepared a delightful sampling of bold Cabot Clothbound Cheddar, delicious tortes of Stilton and Mascarpone, and a taste of Sauvignon Blanc-but someone else has decided to make a little crime of passion the piece de resistance. Right outside the shop Charlotte finds a body, the victim stabbed to death with one of her prized olive-wood handled knives.
Quite apart from the rather understandable curiosity they incite in viewers, Hitler's water colors offer considerable food for thought. An examination of these works offers some stimulating insights into the aesthetics of Nazism, particularly as to how the emphasis on classicism related to ideas about racial purity. These banal little watercolors also offer a look at Hitler's own personal tastes, reflected in his obsession for paintings that were almost exact reproductions from life, with very little room for imagination or interpretation. With the 60th anniversary of the end of World War II coming up in 2005, this is sure to be a timely and important book.
Patchwork-the piecing together of many different fabrics-is back! And it's making a splash on fashion runways, in the hottest magazines, and on the coolest indie craft blogs. No wonder, because patchwork gives stitchers an exciting way to make use of their old fabric scraps; in effect, they're designing new material by creating original combinations of patterns. Thanks to a pool of talented designers and this new entry in the popular Pretty Little series, anyone can pick out some fabrics and get started.
