Bookstore owner Annie Darling and her PI husband, Max, are restoring Franklin House, an antebellum home on the small South Carolina island of Broward’s Rock. A mysterious woman calls Max’s office and leaves a message that she has hidden something in Franklin House, but Max treats it as a crank call.
