James Allen is credited by some as being the progenitor of the personal growth movement and has influenced many of today's leaders in the field including Norman Vincent Peale, Earl Nightingale, Denis Waitley, Tony Robbins and Mark Victor Hansen, co-author of the Chicken Soup books.
