The House of the Red Death
That is where we are now —deep in the dungeon room. Once upon a time it was a Hudson Bay post, abandoned almost since I can remember. When I was a child the smallpox plague tore through this way and killed all the people in its path. Nineteen years ago the red plague came again, and again, not one person lived through it in this Poste de Mort Rouge.
Satyajit Ray's films include the "Apu" trilogy, "The Music Room", "Charulata", "Days and Nights in the Forest", "The Chess Players" and "The Stranger". He also made comedies, musicals, detective films and documentaries. Beginning with the classic "Pather Panchali" in 1955, Ray was an exceptionally versatile artist who won almost every major prize in cinema, including the Oscar for lifetime achievement just before his death in 1992.

According to Lundy, the murder may be work of a serial "Trinity Killer", because he always kills three people in a sequence: First, a young woman is killed in a bathtub, then an older woman, mother of two falls to her death, and finally, a man also a father of two, is bludgeoned to death.
