Mark Twain was the pen name of Samuel Langhorne Clemens (November 30, 1835 – April 21, 1910), an American author and humorist. Twain is most noted for his novels Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, which has since been called the Great American Novel and The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. Twain made a second tour of Europe, described in the 1880. novel A Tramp Abroad.

A Chapter of Adventures
A coastal fishing lad, by an act of heroism, secures the interest of a ship-owner, who places him as midshipman on board one of his ships. In company with two of his fellows, Jack is left behind, at Alexandria, in the hands of the revolted Egyptian troops, and is present through the bombardment and the scenes of riot and blood-shed which accompany it. His adventures continue aboard the Wild Wave, when they meet one of the fiercest hurricanes enroute to Calcutta. Will Jack and his friends survive?
