Brazilian Portuguese for Spanish Speakers. Pois nao
Pois nao accomplishes two main goals. First, it teaches the equivalento of one year of college Portuguese in one semester, three times a week, to Spanish speakers who also have a solid English foundation. Secondly, this book serves as a basic reference guide to Brazilian Portuguese for the same audience. That is, it is an intensive course contrasting Portuguese and Spanish with reliance on English comprehension.

New Worlds, Lost Worlds - The Rule of the Tudors: 1485-1603
No period in British history has more resonance and mystery today than the sixteenth century. New Worlds, Lost Worlds brings the atmosphere and events of this great epoch to life. Exploring the underlying religious motivations for the savage violence and turbulence of the period-from Henry VIII's break with Rome to the overwhelming threat of the Spanish Armada-Susan Brigden investigates the actions and influences of such near-mythical figures as Elizabeth I, Thomas More, Bloody Mary, and Sir Walter Raleigh.
Brief articles in English with Spanish translations of the vocabulary and questions to test comprehension permit Spanish-speakers learning English to practice their reading skills and learn more about the United States and its culture.
The introduction, instructions and tests are in Spanish.
