Everyone has their heroes. Some, such as Yuri Gagarin and Bob Geldof, are familiar to millions. Others, such as the ill- fated Chernobyl firemen, are known only to a few. Heroes are usually people who inspire intense adoration, but not everyone in this book is universally admired.
