Human Origins 101
43

Human Origins 101Human Origins 101 provides a comprehensive look at our understandings of human origins and the evidence we use to support them. It is well researched and comprehensive, filling an important gap in most science programs.
This book represents a compact and complete reference to human paleontology and would be an excellent addition to a library. Many of the books currently available do not do such a thorough job.

Brush Up Your Poetry! by Michael Macrone
Brush Up Your Poetry! by Michael Macrone
Brush Up Your Poetry! is both a lively primer and a fascinating look at how our language evolved, by focusing on well-known words and phrases coined in a rich selection of all poems great and small (as Coleridge would have put it). Readers will savor the familiar and classically poetic--like Elizabeth Barrett Browning's "How do I love thee? Let me count the ways" and John Donne's "Do not ask for whom the bell tolls"--but they will also discover the myriad well-known phrases that you would never expect to come from poems, such as Chaucer's "In one ear and out the other" and Longfellow's "Into each life some rain must fall."
This is one of the most wonderful books I've ever read and it was of a great value while I was studying at the University.

PALAHNIUK - Choke
45

PALAHNIUK - ChokeChoke follows Victor Mancini and his friend Denny through a few months of their lives with frequent flashbacks to the days when Victor was a child Victor grew up while going from one foster home to another. Victor's mother was found to be unfit to raise Victor. Several times throughout his childhood his mother would kidnap him from his foster parents. They would eventually be caught and he would again be remanded over to the government child welfare agency.

In the present day setting of the book, Victor is now a man in his mid-twenties who left medical school in order to find work to support his mother who is now in a nursing home. He cannot afford the care that his mother is receiving so he resorts to being a con man. His "con" is to go to restaurants and midway through his meal, he forces himself to choke on his food.

BEST WISHES :-) and a small gift: http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/2132/Christmas1997/contents.htmlDear englishtips Friends!!!

I would like to thank the englishtips Creators for the idea of this site, I would like to thank you all for being here, and I would like to  wish all of you, all of us, all the best for now and for the future times... May peace be a reality for all of human beings.

"I have always thought of Christmas time, when it has come round, as a good time; a kind, forgiving, charitable time; the only time I know of, in the long calendar of the year, when men and women seem by one consent to open their shut-up hearts freely, and to think of people below them as if they really were fellow passengers to the grave, and not another race of creatures bound on other journeys."
- Charles Dickens, "A Christmas Carol"

Thank you!
