Encyclopedic Dictionary of Polymers

Encyclopedic Dictionary of PolymersThe editor offers scientists, engineers, academia, and others interested in adhesives, coatings, elastomers, inks, plastics, and textiles a valuable communication tool within this book In addition, the more recent innovations and biocompatible polymers andadhesives productshave necessitated inclusion into any lexicon that addresses polymeric materials. Communication among scientific and engineering personnel has always been of critical importance, and as in any technical field, the terms and descriptions of materials and processes lag the availability of a manual or handbook that would benefit individuals working and studying in scientific and engineering disciplines. There is often a challenge when conveying an idea from one individual to another due to its complexity, and sometimes even the pronunciation of a word is different not only in different countries, but also in industries.

Juliette Low (Young Patriots series)
Over two million Girl Scouts worldwide owe their membership to its founder, Juliette Low a woman who, as a girl growing up in the post Civil War South, refused to accept that girls couldn't do everything boys could. Whether angrily defending her friend against taunts of schoolmates or rescuing a kitten from the highest branches of a tree, Low possessed the spirit and strength of character that would lead her in adulthood to act as a world-famous advocate for girls. Children will experience Low's joy at the gift of her very own horse, feel her excitement at attending her first dance, and share her frustration with being thrust in to the role of a well-behaved 19th-century young lady who would rather have been riding, creating sculptures, or climbing.

The Economist May 2nd - May 8th 2009Now is the time to prepare for the worst. Flu—including pandemic flu—tends to be seasonal. The infection will probably tail off in the north over the next few months and head south as winter gets a grip on the Earth’s less populated hemisphere. It would make sense, therefore, to put the antiviral factories on overtime immediately, and try to develop, manufacture and distribute a vaccine.

High Five (Stephanie Plum, No. 5) [UNABRIDGED AUDIOBOOK]"Uncle Fred was someone I saw at weddings and funerals and once in a while at Giovichinni's Meat Market, ordering a quarter pound of olive loaf. Eddie Such, the butcher, would have the olive loaf on the scale and Uncle Fred would say, 'You've got the olive loaf on a piece of waxed paper. How much does that piece of waxed paper weigh? You're not gonna charge me for that waxed paper, are you? I want some money off for the waxed paper.'"

The speaker is Stephanie Plum, the glamorous if slightly ditzy bounty hunter from Trenton, New Jersey, and one of the most original creations in recent mystery fiction.
