Hairpin Crochet is an old craft, its origins being obscure and mainly a matter of guesswork. There is, however, proof that this branch of crochet work was very popular well over a hundred years ago when Victorian ladies created crochet lace of beautiful delicacy using a crochet hook and their long hairpins.
