A very clear and comprehensive introduction to sharpening and maintaining hand and power tools -- chisels, scrapers, drill bits, rotary saw blades, band saw blades, etc. The diagrams and pictures are wonderfully presented and are useful in gaining and understanding the methods described. Well worth the inexpensive price!!!
Building Chairs (The Art Of Woodworking) Learn to build comfortable, long-lasting chairs. Chairs are ubiquitous, found in every home, office and building. Almost all are commercially made since many woodworkers shy away from making chairs, or even stools. Granted, there are not too many square parts to most chairs, and compound angles are somewhat intimidating.
This series of books always have excellent professional writing and illustrations. This is no exception. Illustrations are often better than photos because the artist can show us the crucial functional parts while editing out superfluous details.

The Art of Woodworking is a long series (25 books) published in the 90's. Each volume details specific tools, skills, or techniques used to work with wood or specific things to home/garage. It does give a nice option for a closet workshop, although it didn't look real practical to me. The book is lacking in specifics for bulding a bench or home repair area. This book is designed more for a person who wants a "workshop" and has a number of power tools to place in the room, such as scroll-saw, drill press, planer, etc. build out of wood.
