World Education Encyclopedia: A Survey of Educational Systems Worldwide - 3 vol. setWorld Education Encyclopedia: A Survey of Educational Systems Worldwide - 3 vol. set

Gale and editor Marlow-Ferguson have done a good job in revising the World Education Encyclopedia (WEE), published in 1988 by Facts On File. The introduction notes that the title has been "reconceptualized" with 100 percent revision. New contributors have been recruited; the majority are faculty from U.S. colleges and universities. The glossaries at the end of each country article have been eliminated but the bibliographies remain, with current titles and some Web sites.

Mathematical Logic: Foundations for Information ScienceMathematical Logic: Foundations for Information Science

Mathematical logic is a branch of mathematics that takes axiom systems and mathematical proofs as its objects of study. This book shows how it can also pre a foundation for the development of information science and technology. The first five chapters systematically present the core topics of classical mathematical logic, including the syntax and models of first-order languages, formal inference systems, computability and representability, and Gödel’s theorems.

Short Circuit Currents (Power & Energy)Short Circuit Currents (Power & Energy)

The calculation of short circuit currents is a central task for Power System engineers, they are essential parameters for the design of electrical equipment and installations, the operation of power systems and the analysis of outages and faults. Short-circuit Currents gives an overview of the components within power systems with respect to the parameters needed for short circuit current calculation. It also explains how to use a system of symmetrical components to analyse different types of short circuits in power systems.
