Sourcebook of Experiential Education: Key Thinkers and Their Contributions
Experiential education is a philosophy and methodology for building knowledge, developing skills, and clarifying values by engaging learners in direct experience and focused reflection. To understand experiential education, what should one be reading? This sourcebook introduces philosophers, educators, and other practitioners whose work is relevant to anyone seeking answers to this question.
This text looks at each national curriculum subject and analyzes it in terms of culture and ideology represented. It proceeds to give detailed advice and suggestions on how to promote equality and equal opportunities within each subject. Each chapter is wide-ranging and includes both theoretical and practical issues. The book also provides detailed lists of relevant curricular resources and their suppliers.
Vocational English - English For Nursing 1 SB English for Nursing combines a strong grammar syllabus with the specialist vocabulary students need to succeed in this area. It contains topics that reflect the latest developments in the field making it immediately relevant to students’ needs. The CD-ROM accompanying the book contains the course book audio and interactive glossaries.
Gr 4-8-This series discusses different worldwide problems related to human rights and also introduces organizations that were created to assist with these issues. The authors make topics relatable to young readers. These are text-heavy volumes, with some pages broken up by sidebars and full-color captioned photos. A "What you can do to help" page, which outlines what students can do now, is potentially the most relevant section of each book. While the subject matter is indeed important, the information tends to get lost in the dense text.
