Planets & Solar System The Complete Manual 2016
Throughout history, humankind has looked up at the stars and wondered what they were. Playing a central role in mythology, philosophy and superstition, it wasn’t until the rise of astronomy that we began to understand these celestial bodies. After Galileo Galilei’s incredible discovery, we now know the role of the Sun as the centre of a system of planets, dubbed the Solar System. As new technology advances we discover more and more about our fellow planets, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and the dwarf planet Pluto.
The Earth is one of nine planets that revolve around the Sun, which is the center of our solar system. In Planets & The Solar System, students will learn the key characteristics of each planet, the difference between inner and outer planets and which planets have their own moons. They’ll take a fascinating look at how remote-control rovers are designed to explore other surfaces in the solar system. Also, in a fun, hands-on activity, students will demonstrate how gravity keeps all the members of the solar system in orbit around the Sun.
For years, tales of DRAGONS from another world kidnapping and enslaving humans have been circulating in Jason Masters' world, while for a slave girl named Koren, the stories of a human world seem pure myth. Together, these two teens will need to bridge two planets in order to overthrow the draconic threat and bring the lost slaves home.
