This small book introduces a single state of matter: a gas. Each page in the main section offers one or more colorful photographs and a brief line or two of large-print text. After a brief introduction to matter, the discussion moves on to the characteristics of gases and a few examples. The final pages, written in more difficult sentences, include a glossary, an introduction to the oxygen cycle, and a section of "Fun Facts."
The purpouse of this book is very simple: to help you, the reader, to pronounce English better than you do now. Millions of foreign students want to learn English as well as they can, for some it is only a matter of reading and writing it, and they will find no help here.

Disney Educational - Bill Nye The Science Guy: Phases of Matter
The three phases of matter get the Bill Nye treatment in this program. As usual, although some of the science concepts explored in the programs can be complex, Nye is in tune with what students are capable of understanding and uses humor to create a fun learning atmosphere. In this episode, he discusses the finer points of solids, liquids, and gases, using examples that kids can relate to. The idea of frying an ice cube is presented to help illustrate what matter is all about.
