Introductory physics presents a challenge to students and teachers alike. Arons has spent years studying how students understand physical concepts, models, and lines of reasoning. In this guide, he presents observations from throughout the physics teaching community that have a direct bearing on classroom practice at the most basic levels of the subject matter. Divided into three parts, the first deals with basic teaching techniques, the second with developing homework and tests, and the third introduces classical conservation laws. It gives instructors everything they need to make physics accessible.
In Edgar Allan Poe's "The Tell-Tale Heart," the mad narrator explains in detail how he kills the old man, who screams as he dies. After being alerted by a neighbor, the police arrive, and the madman gives them a tour through the house, finally halting in the old man's bedroom, where he has buried the man beneath the floor planks under the bed. As he is talking, the narrator hears what he thinks is the old man's heart beating loudly, and he is driven to confess the murder.

Basic English Grammar With Exercises
The target audience for the book is BA students, covering the introductory syntax level and going through to more advanced BA level material. For this reason, the book starts from the beginning and tries to make as few assumptions as possible about linguistic notions. The first two chapters are a fairly substantial introduction to grammatical concepts both from a descriptive and a theoretical point of view. This material alone, along with the exercises, could form the basis of an introduction to a syntax course.
