The Units of Language Acquisition inaugurates a new series of Monographs and Texts in Applied Psycholinguistics for researchers, practitioners, instructors, and students.The basic theme of this book is the way children acquire language by first accumulating formulaic units or prefabricated patterns. The author shows that their strategies do not correspond with descriptive procedures of linguistic analysis.
