Eyewitness is a new course on life and culture which provides opportunities for in-depth study, reflection and discussion using a modern and original eyewitness approach, observing events´on the ground´ and maintaining an all-around international perspective to topics.
Flexible, personalized paths The course consists of 17 sections organized in three distinct alternating paths: • COUNTRIES, to discover the complex world of English-speaking countries from past to present throught historical, geographical, economic, anthropological, institutional and cultural cotent; • PAST AND PRESENT ISSUES, to go deeper into topics of great cultural significance such as human rights, travel, discovery, migration, economics, war and peace and human achievement; • ENVIRONMENT AND ECOLOGY, to reflect on topics linked to enviromental protection, such as food safety, water supplies, biodiversity at risk and enviromental emergencies.
Young people´s world - culture, literature, and more... Eyewitness has 2 independent section which can be linked to the three paths: • THE MAG, a magazine covering subjects that really matter to students: from extreme sports to street art, from healtcare rights to women in society, from life in Europe today to a look into the future, from current affairs to music. • VOICES, an overview of literary texts of differnet genres giving voice to English-language authors who deal with universal themes in a personal way.
Wide range of activities • The activities, gradual and guided, are strongly orientated towards speaking and discussion, without overlooking reading and listening comprehension. • In addition, projects stimulate participation and cooperation in pair an¨d group work and make learning more effective. • Exercisesv to prepare for external certificate examinations are marked with the symbol EP (Exam Practice).
CLIL The treatment of multidisciplinary content throught the English language makes Eyewitness a course where language and subject learning interact providing mutual support and thus offering and excellent basic for CLIL-oriented teaching.
