Calhoun Women:

The four Calhoun sisters – Catherine, Amanda, Lilah and Suzanna – live in the Towers, their family’s once grand but now decaying mansion on the coast of Maine.  Residing with them is Aunt Coco, a chronic matchmaker, who has taken care of the sisters since they lost their parents in an automobile accident years earlier.

The family’s declining fortune has forced the sisters to consider selling their home. It has also led them to redouble their efforts to find a fabled emerald necklace belonging to their great-grandmother Bianca, which may be hidden within the mansion. The story of Bianca’s own unhappy marriage and her love affair with artist Christian Bradford is developed in flashbacks that continue throughout this series.

The first four books in the Calhoun Women series, all originally published in 1991, detail the romantic relationships of each of the four sisters. A fifth book, released in 1996, focuses on Amanda Calhoun’s sister-in-law, Megan O’Riley.
