This book is intended for use at an intermediate level of English., and will be a help to students who are working for the new English paper of the Lower Cambridge Certificate – particularly as the exercises consist of two kinds and include multiple-choice questions as well as the usual form of comprehension questions.  The multiple-choice questions not only provide a convenient and quick vocabulary and comprehension test, but can also be used for bringing out certain teaching points in the vocabulary and structures illustrated in the passages. The vocabulary is generally restricted to the2, 075 word-level in the General Service list.
