Managing Responsibilities (Character Education)

A responsible person answers for his or her decisions and actions. "Managing Responsibilities" tells the stories of responsible people who made a difference throughout history - including Helen Keller, Eleanor Roosevelt, Ruby Bridges, and modern teens - and suggests to readers how they, too, may become more accountable for their actions at school, at home, with money, and on the Internet. History and current events topics covered include: responsible Internet use; how football player Kevin Everett overcame a spinal cord injury to walk again; how people worked to change child labor practices; how student Lin Hao saved classmates after a 7.9 magnitude earthquake hit China; and, how Professor Liviu Librescu gave his life to protect his students during the 2007 Virginia Tech shooting.
