'I have sought to gather most of the world's best games together in this book. Some have been passed on by word of mouth, some stolen from other people's books, and one or two invented by myself. Part 1 describes word games played orally while part 2 deals with paper-and-pencil games. All are fun and most are competitive. Each game in the book is prefaced with a threefold note.
