 Episode 1: Extreme Aggressor    
Jason Gideon is called back from 6 months leave from the Behavioral Analysis Unit to profile a killer who targets young women. The team flies across the country to Seattle when another young woman goes missing.




Episode 2:  Compulsion
The team investigates the psychology of an escalating serial arsonist who doesn't just set fires to watch them burn, but to kill. Dr. Reid and the team is challenged to think outside the box.




Episode 3:  Won't Get Fooled Again   
Gideon and the Behavioral Analysis Unit team goes to Palm Beach to investigate a serial bomber who turns out to be a copycat of Adrian Bale, a bomber responsible for murdering six FBI agents.




Episode 4: Plain Sight
The team sets out to find and stop the "Tommy" killer, a serial rapist in the San Diego area, who rapes, murders and glues the women's eyes wide open.




Episode 5: Broken Mirror    
The team investigates the kidnapping of one of the twin daughters of an Executive Assistant US Attorney.

The team attempts to catch a killer who preys on families while they are supposed to be on vacation.




Episode 8: Natural Born Killer
The disappearance of an undercover officer in relation to a triple murder puts the BAU on the hunt of a possible serial killer who's turned it into a profession.

Episode 9: Derailed
A paranoid schizophrenic takes other passengers on a train hostage, including Elle.

Episode 10: The Popular Kids
The apparent death by Satanic ritual brings the BAU to a small town, and the profiling morphs into a search when it's learned that a teenage girl is missing.




Episode 11: Blood Hungry
The BAU team must profile a delusional killer in rural Tennessee, and a family member protecting him puts a child at risk.




Episode 12: What Fresh Hell?
The team must determine whether an abducted girl is the pawn in a bitter divorce, or something more sinister has happened.




Episode 13: Poison
The team travels to New Jersey where several people have been poisoned (one fatally) with LSD ten times more potent than the street version.




Episide 14: Riding the Lightning
The team is sent to the Florida State Penitentiary to interview husband and wife serial killers set to be executed. After the initial interview, Gideon suspects that the wife may not be guilty of the crimes committed.




Episode 15: Unfinished Business
After eighteen years of silence, a serial killer resurfaces after the (now) retired FBI Agent who was in charge of the investigation publishes a book about the case.




Episode 16: The Tribe
When college students in New Mexico are found tortured and murdered in an unoccupied house, the BAU suspects a group of killers with a knowledge of Native American rituals is responsible.








Episode 17: A Real Rain
The BAU travels to New York City to investigate a series of murders that appear to have been committed by a vigilante who is exacting revenge on other criminals who have been released by the justice system.




Episode 18: Somebody's Watching
While in Los Angeles conducting a profiling seminar with the LAPD, Gideon and Reid are brought in to consult on a series of murders occurring around a young Hollywood actress. Reid finds himself drawn to the young starlet.




Episode 19: Machismo
The BAU is requested to assist on a case in Mexico to determine if there is a serial killer with a disturbing history targeting the elderly women of his past in the town of a police captain who attended one of Gideon's seminars.




Episode 20: Charm and Harm
A serial killer eludes Gideon and his team by changing his appearance like a chameleon. They track the killer across the south but have to look beyond his multiple appearances and profile the man underneath in order to locate him, before he takes his next victim.




Episode 21: Secrets and Lies
Gideon and the team are called to investigate the CIA's Counter-Terrorism Unit on a mission to save one of its informants and identify a mole within the unit.




Episode 22: The Fisher King, Part 1 (Seasons's Finale)
A psychopathic killer involves the team in his own fantasy game; he defies them to unscramble clues and riddles in order to rescue his next victim. Gideon and Hotchner both receive mysterious items while on their vacations. They reconvene with the rest of the team at BAU offices in order to gather all connecting clues in an effort to attempt to solve the case. The Team release a press statement and go on television which makes the killer angry and go after Elle.
