A woman haunted by the uncertain onset of a genetic disease sees a woman from her past, and struggles to fill in the gaps between truth and lies from a time in her life marked by violence and murder.
Main character: Elizabeth - story-teller Bell: she’s the girlfriend of Elizabeth Cosette: she’s an older woman. The House of Stairs is her house, she bought it. She’s like a mother to Elizabeth, but she’s a far relative of Elizabeth. Mark: he’s the boyfriend of Cosette.
When Cosette bought the house, Elizabeth was going to live in the House of Stairs. Later Bell was coming out of jail, she’s has killed her husband, and was the best friend of Elizabeth. Later they contact each other and than Bell is coming to live in the house of stairs. Cosette is very rich because she has inherit much from her husband, and boyfriend, later she has found an other boyfriend, and Bell said he’s a brother of her, her whole story is a lie.
