In 1961, Doris Day was paired, on records, with pianist/composer/conductor Andre Previn. The results were an unusually pleasing set of performances on an album titled "Duet" which was a musical departure for Doris Day into the world of small group jazz. Along with Red Mitchell on bass and Frank Capp on drums, they began their album with a song written in 1933 by Bernice Petkere, "Close Your Eyes". It gets a laid back treatment by Day whose performance is very much in the pocket.
